Aerolite Quarry's light weight concrete aggregates:

Produce concrete as light as 1850 kgs/M3 at strengthens of up to 55 Mpa

 It is well proven having been used by all major concrete providers in Australia.

It has prove the test of time being used for the last 30years in many major high-rise developments around Australia. It is as stable and reliable as other concrete aggregates.

It will also  produce industry standard stripping strengths for pre-cast and similar used.

Importantly, due to the low density of the material and hence high yield, the finished cost per m3 is competitive with normal dense weight aggregates


Aerolite's light weight concrete sand:

When the Aerolite lightweight aggregate is combined with Aerolite's Lightweight Concrete Sand it is possible to further reduce final concrete weight to final densities of 1,600kgs per m3

No special equipment is required as the light weight concrete can be easily produced in normal  batching and used as normal in manufacturing processes

The resulting concrete has normal stripping and 28day strengths.

High Rise Construction

With up to almost 40% weight saving possible, the Aerolite concrete allows smart designers to:

Tilt Panel Manufacture

Much lower concrete density means that tilt slab panels are up to 40% lighter per square meter, thus:

More panels can be transported on a single truck.

Panels can be lighter and/or larger and so allow for cheaper cranes or less movements to be required.

bullet

Panels can be bigger meaning less handling on site and greater erection speeds.
 

General Concrete Products

The almost 40% lower density means that all products made from this material are;

lower density allows more units to be shipped on a single truck

Customer needs for lighter and more easily handled products can be met

COST OF CONSTRUCTION REDUCED
I
n many cases using AEROLITE LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE & SAND will lead to a direct reduction in the cost of aggregate due to its density being half of normal aggregates. More importantly for most users however are the large benefits gained due to the reduction in the weight of the final concrete product or construction.

 Benefits for Pre cast Panel makers:

 Pre Cast panel manufactures can gain significant savings through:

Transport savings by being able to carry more panels or bigger panels on the same sized truck when compared to dense weight concrete

Manufacturing Benefits by obtaining better utilization of their manufacturing plants through better use of existing crane capacity.

On Site Assembly Benefits by lifting the same sized panel higher or further with a fixed crane capacity or by being able to lift bigger panels and so reduce the total number of lifts. Panels can be bigger meaning less handling on site and greater erection speeds

Note: Scoria is a mineral that is quarried only in extinct volcanoes in the southern Victorian area. It is composed of a complex range of different compounds and minerals with a structure that is highly vesicular. It this looks like a rock sponge. The lightest and best of this material is mined in the Anakie area to the south west of Melbourne at two quarries owned by the Aerolite group.
